Duties
of an architect:
If an architect
prepares a plan, specification, document or diagram submitted in accordance
with the act, should provide his/her name and address, his/hers profession and
registration number, if applicable to the above mentioned projects/professional
items.

Important word
meanings
Tender Document:
A tender document is
used when acquiring a fixed price for work, services and products, provided by
a company or individual. In the construction industry a tender document will be
used to detail various works that are required for the project.
Bill of Standards:
An act passed by
parliament, to ensure that certain standards are mate and upheld. In
architecture, before a building can erect, there must be standards that it must
pass (in relation to the building plans). It must have a seal of approval by
the local authority, if such standards are not mate or blatantly ignored, the
parties involved in the wrong doing are held accountable and will be prosecuted
by the law.
Signing a
Contract:
A contract is an
agreement between two-or-more parties, for doing or not doing of something
specified. It is a written form of an agreement enforced by law. It will ensure
that all parties are protected and are within their rights. If the contract is
broken, then legal action can be taken. Contracts are to be read carefully, and
understood before signing. Escape clauses are to be understood clearly and
dating/deadlines resolved before any contract signing.
